Tyres

About Tyres

Tyre structure has varied throughout the years. Today, the most popular tyres are of a radial, belted design. Layers of "cords" are positioned "radially" across the carcass or circumference of the tyre for strength. These cords may be comprised of different types of materials, such as: nylon, rayon, fiberglass, polyester or steel. The cords are laid in various angles around the tyre. Steel belts are then laid around the tyre under the tread surface to help strengthen the tyre.

Tyres are the connection between your vehicle and the surface of the road. A critical part of your vehicle's suspension system, tyres are responsible for transmitting the forces of driving, steering, and braking to the surface of the road. Although tyres are easily maintained, they are often overlooked. The air inside your tyres and the design of the tyre influence vehicle performance, tyre tread life, and ride comfort.

Premature tyre wear is caused by poor tyre inflation levels and improper tyre rotation. Whereas correctly inflated tyres tend to have durable sidewalls, underinflated tyres often have flexible sidewalls that result in quicker sidewall wear. Overinflated tyres are also undesirable and will result in excessive center tread wear. Wheel balancing has the potential to relieve some symptoms of improper tyre wear, like excessive lean. However, improper tyre wear may also be the cause of alignment issues and suspension problems. tyre maintenance is vital for getting the most out of your tyres by maximizing mileage and tread wear. We will help you understand the basics of tyre care and maintenance, when you need new tyres, balance, and alignment.
